President’s Message

I would like to thank Tim Hunter and his staff for an excellent conference. The speakers were top notch. I have heard a lot of positive feedback for all of the speakers. The entertainment was over the top. The Kansas City Barbecue provided a great time to meet new faces and reconnect with old friends. The Midway.what can I say. It will be very hard to top this event. Lastly I would like to thank all the attendees for their cooperation, returning to class on time and with the fire alarm situation; there was a malfunctioning fan in the kitchen. The 2008 conference is already in the planning stages. Please provide your feedback for this year’s conference via the website, so we can implement your suggestions. Thanks to everyone for a great conference.

Walt Aldred has graciously agreed to accept a new position as an advisor to the board for training and POST liaison. Walt is working hard with POST to get our quarterly training and conference POST approved; hopefully reimbursable approved. This should help with agencies sending more officers to training and boosting our attendance at both training venues. Please be patient with this process, we have a lot of work to do. Walt and I will keep you informed.

Lastly I would like to thank the State and Regional Boards for their work over the past year; they have been a valuable asset to not only myself, but to the membership as well. As always, this is your Association, please feel free to contact any board member with any questions, concerns or suggestions.
